You guys know Ronimo right? The guys who made that awesome little game aptly titled Awesomenauts? Well one of their press guys emailed me a couple days back informing me about the first game they ever made as a team. This game was titled Snowball Earth and was unfortunately never finished.

The project was cancelled due to lack of funds and a partner to supply them. Originally planned for a release on the Wii as Ronimo's first fully fledged disk based game.

The game itself is quite a fun little adventure game with a very unique feature. You play as a little robot boy whose duty it is to reverse the ice age he (supposedly) caused. You go about this in a very awesome way, simply walking up to any environmental piece (provided its frozen) will thaw it. This mechanic works with everything and looks fantastic, grass and flowers pop up from under snowdrifts and the whole world looks different.

I would love to see what this game would look like today if it had continued development, but alas, that ceased in 2008. A shame I think. On the plus side though, Ronimo have clipped up the game into a playable demo for the PC. Be warned though, it only seems to play well with an xbox controller!
